Empower calculator

Choose your weapons, add active effects and check your Empower cap.

Start with your weapons

Only active effects count. Your selections stay when you change weapons.

Duration perks

These extend eligible buffs without increasing their strength. Each effect keeps its own maximum duration.

Weaken and other damage bonuses

Enter the effective Weaken affecting the attacker. Base-damage bonuses, reductions and critical damage belong to a separate factor. These modifiers apply to both components of a split hit. Enter target defences in Split damage above.

Full damage formula
Split damage and conversion gems

A weapon can use different damage types for different attacks. Slash and thrust attacks should be checked separately. Choosing a weapon sets an initial type; it does not assign that type to every attack.

Turn on Calculate a split hit, choose both damage types and enter the conversion share. Each component uses its own Empower sources and cap. The calculator adds their damage after applying the bonuses and defences you enter.

For example, with 40% general Empower and 20% fire-only Empower, the physical component gets 40% and the fire component reaches the ordinary 50% cap. A conversion percentage describes how the hit is split, not how much Empower either component receives.

With a 1,000 base hit split equally between those types, the physical part deals 700 damage and fire deals 750 before mitigation, for 1,450 combined. Enter component scaling and target defences to account for those differences. Conversion gems do not automatically activate Elemental Band stacks.

How the totals work

Selected effects are assumed to be active together. The result is a snapshot, not average damage or guaranteed uptime. Use the stack count and gear score for your equipment.

The calculator totals each damage type separately. Ordinary Empower is capped at 50%. Uncapped sources set a minimum for the result: 40% ordinary plus 20% uncapped gives 50%, while 20% ordinary plus 60% uncapped gives 60%.

Target-specific food buffs are listed separately. BaseDamageMult effects, such as Nature's Wrath's damage bonus, do not belong in the Empower total. If Nature's Wrath prevents a temporary Empower from applying, leave that effect unselected.

Values follow MrMojitoTV's Season 10 spreadsheet, version 10.0.0, for New World 10.0.2. Gear-score scaling and weapon placement use its underlying formulas.
